SkyPark, Exeter, UK – January 30, 2024

Onyx Business Parks, in collaboration with Devon County Council, has officially broken ground on Phase Two of the Skypark development near Exeter, marking a significant milestone.

This ambitious endeavour is being celebrated as a significant show of faith in the local economy and is poised to deliver substantial enhancements in job prospects and sustainability initiatives.

Phase Two of Skypark will witness the construction of 36 cutting-edge business units, encompassing over 40,000 square feet of versatile commercial space. This development is expected to support 132 construction jobs and generate more than 288 highly skilled new jobs, solidifying Onyx Business Parks’ commitment to local employment and economic recovery.

Zach Maiden from Vickery Holman adds “We are pleased to be working with Onyx Business Parks on the South West most sought after development locations. Working with Lewis, we have already had a lot of interest from local occupiers and investors”.

Lewis Watts, the newly appointed sales manager at Onyx Business Parks, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We have been encouraged by the number of inquiries we’ve received, indicating positivity in the South West Business Market. We have already taken reservations on twelve of the thirty-six units.”

In alignment with Skypark’s sustainability goals, the development will incorporate various eco-friendly features, including solar PV, EV charging points, covered bicycle storage, and insulated panel technology. The project aims to meet the BREEAM ‘Excellent’ benchmark, further emphasising its commitment to environmental responsibility.
